Chevron Crotchet Blanket

Before I begin I'll put it out there that 'blanket' probably isn't the best term to use...lap rug is more accurate due to the fact I got sick of sewing triangles after number 48, and decided to finish it off at that size =D

It began when someone showed me a picture of a quilt with the chevron design, similar to this, but with all sorts of beautiful colours rather than just four. I loved it, but didnt really feel like quilting, so I figured why not try crotchet? It involved crocheting triangles. Lots of triangles.

And learn from my mistake... always buy the same ply wool! Its jolly hard making triangles all the same size and stretch when your wool is different thicknesses, trust me. (Hence why I like the photos on a post better than on the ground, it doesnt show the wonkiness =P )

I'm overall happy with it though, the colours are like the beach in summer and leaves in spring and moss winter all wrapped into one. (I couldn't resist including a photo of the stunning mustard yellow moss on the fig tree-it matches the blanket so well!- which you can just see in the background)

Peppa my sister's pig thinks so too =) She literally sat like a dog, grunting near the gate while I climbed the not-so-sturdy tree to get some snaps.

Anyways, before I make this post boring...bring on the blanket! =)

PS. Dont you just love those fresh new leaves on the fig tree?! ...everytime I'm there I have to think of that hymn, "though fig trees may not blossom...yet I will praise the Lord". And then to think that we actually have figs blossoming, what more reason to praise the Lord!!"
