The making of a graduation dress

It was three years ago that my class was graduating from John Calvin School, finishing year 10 and off to the world of public schooling... which also means it was three years ago I last sewed a graduation dress. It feels like forever ago, and looking back at the style I chose it probably was forever ago in the fashion world....just picture purple and teal (yes in the same dress), diamonte flowers (they were pretty, i didnt make those =P), and a big shoulder ruffle...

My chance to redeem myself came in my sister's graduation this year. She loved two specific dresses on pinterest, one with a blinged out woven strapped back, and the other with woven ruching in the front accentuated with crystals....i guess it was always a given that i would maker her a custom dress so the planning and sewing began =P

Well the class graduated last week so finally after hours of sewing and ironing on diamonds and fixing broken zips....i can post pictures. I wont try beat the bush, I'm not a fabulous model photographer so just ignore the basketballs in the background and the occasional dog or chook =)
